Tiny Theologian Youth Mentors
Downtown Church is looking for high school students to serve as mentors for our Tiny Theologians.
What: Serve as a Tiny Theologians Youth Mentor during the 2026–2027 school year. You'll build relationships with elementary-aged students, help with activities and discussions, and encourage them as they grow in faith. (Plus, you'll earn service hours and gain leadership experience for college applications!)
Requirements to be a Mentor:
Commit to attending Tiny Theologians meetings (at least once a month) and fellowship events throughout the year.
Participate fully in lessons, games, crafts, and conversations.
Be a positive role model who encourages curiosity, kindness, and inclusion.
Be in 9th-12th grade
You don't have to have all the answers, we're looking for students who are excited to learn alongside our Tiny Theologians.
What is Tiny Theologians?
An opportunity for upper elementary children transitioning into worship or who want time and space to be with their peers. The purpose of Tiny Theologians is to provide a space for children to bring their joy, curiosity, worries, wonder, and questions. It’s a space to build relationships, dive deeper into Scripture, and learn more about and experience God’s grace and love.
When and where do they meet? Tiny Theologians meet after Holy Interruption at the 10:30 service (does not meet on Communion Sundays) in the Open Office upstairs. The first meeting of the year will be on Sunday, September 20th.

Applications are open until September 1st.
