PRAYER OF THE DAY God, We know that when you declare something good, we tilt our heads to learn from it. We learn about the goodness that is light, traveling from you to and through us. May we look where the light is. Seeing our shadows may we seek forgiveness from you. Amen.
WORDS OF FORGIVENESS Jesus is the light of the world. He came so that we might not stumble, but follow more closely in his way. Beloved, receive the good news of the gospel, in Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.

SCRIPTURE READING | Genesis 1:1-5 In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
The word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God.
SERMON + RESPONSE | Long As I Can See The Light
PRAYERS FOR ALL PEOPLE + THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH | The Apostle’s Creed I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
